I am only quoting what was PM Najib Razak said only two days ago. And so the grand wedding feast of Malacca CM Mohd Ali Rustam's son - alleged to have been held at the expense of PKNM (Melaka State Development Corporation) - was that morally right or wrong?

The country's PM advocates a morally strong society, but what has he got to say about Ali Rustam?

Onyourtoes: Ali Rustam, you are unfit to be Malacca CM because you are incapable of reasoned debate and argument.

Opposition leaders Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng and Mohamad Sabu did not have 130,000 people attending their weddings. Even if they had, I think they were able to explain the cost.

But you, however, are not able to explain the cost of your son's wedding. You are not able to explain who had sponsored it. You are not able to explain the alleged use of state resources.

You are entitled to invite 130,000 people; that is your right. But you have to explain how much you spent because you are the state's CM.

Your response shows who you are: that you have no qualms to abuse power because you think there is nothing the opposition and the people can do. It is a reflection of your arrogance and your contempt for the people.

By the way, there is nothing to be proud of the attendance record you have achieved. I am ashamed, not jealous of you.

James Dean: Many people who evade paying taxes would not dare to even buy a brand new car for fear attracting LHDN's (Inland Revenue Board) attention but leaders from Umno have no fear - they flaunt their ill-gotten wealth, just like Ali Rustam.

Not only that, he spends our tax money like that they belong to their grandfather.

Ferdtan: The Malacca chief minister is a cheapskate; he wants to hold a grand wedding for his son but don't want to pay for it. If he can afford it and uses his own money, nobody would be bothered.

As he was only following the example of his beloved chief, Umno president Najib, he shouldn't be ‘faulted' at all. As the saying goes, the fish gets rotten by the head.

Najib allegedly timed his official visit to Kazakhstan to coincide with his daughter's pre-engagement party to get the rakyat to pay for his personal event.

So how can Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigate Ali Rustam without doing the same with the PM?

YF: Ali Rustam, you still don't get it. It is the rakyat who is upset over your extravagance. Where did you get the RM600,000 from? Why complain about Pakatan Rakyat?

Even your boss knows that doing such an extravagant personal event will mean scrutiny because that's what MACC and LHDN should be watching for - corrupt politicians and tax evaders who do not declare their ill-gotten gains.

If you were in the West, you would be under investigation immediately. But this is Bolehland - a pseudo-Islamic country that does not practise what they preach.

Sin Lee Huang: I'm worried that the only comment the CM can muster is that others are jealous of him.

A man in his position should know that any extravagant spending will attract scrutiny. The public have the right to ensure that their money is not misused.

I was expecting him to open his books to show that there was no public subsidy for the event. But I guess I was expecting too much.

Absalom: Ali Rustam, one day very soon, there will be a Malaysian Book of Crooks and Cheats, and you will be in it, along with your thieving, corrupted, raping, murdering and scheming mates.

"What can I do?" Ali Rustam asks. In other words, "How can you fault me for being so popular? People just flock to celebrate with me because they love me, don't you see?"

What Pakatan and the rakyat are asking is where did the money come from for this extravagant celebration? Why were state government departments and agencies involved and why were local councils and the armed forces sponsoring the event?
