Why should anyone be afraid of the truth?
YOURSAY 'William Bourdon's request to BN to guarantee his safety is merely a challenge. More interesting would be how they respond to it.'
French lawyer Bourdon agrees to brief lawmakers
Paul Warren:
Young Malaysian Journalists Club president Dzulkarnain Taib and his NGO are silly idiots. He thinks the investigations in Paris are about Malaysian criminals and murderers. Okay idiot, let me just tell you this once.
The French are only interested if their company was involved in a criminal or illegal activity in facilitating or giving a bribe. They do not care if in Malaysia taking a bribe is legal or not.
They also do not care that if in Malaysia a Mongolian is murdered, and that it is perfectly all right here. They do not even care that if in Malaysia, the prime minister has 10 wives. (Not that Rosmah Mansor will allow even a second).
It is about whether a French company and its officers might have undertaken an illegal activity. That is why they may subpoena one Najib Abdul Razak and a Abdul Razak Baginda.
Bear in mind, whatever happened in Malaysia, the entire Scorpene deal is legal and above board. But Paris does not care about that. So what are you talking about Scorpene being an internal case? What internal case are you talking about?
Gerard Lourdesamy: What is Suaram's locus standi? Well, its members are all taxpayers just like the rest of us who want to know the whole truth about the Scorpene submarine purchase since it cost us billions of ringgit together with the kickbacks of RM500 million to Perimekar.
Our own government is not interested to get to the truth, so we need to rely on the French. If Najib and Razak Baginda have nothing to hide, please testify in France.
Frankly, most Malaysians do not care if Suaram is funded by billionaire financier George Soros or the Devil provided we get to the truth.
Since we have purported journalists like Dzulkarnain who are not interested in finding out the truth but more willing to defend the BN government's version hook, line and sinker, the public have a right to know from an independent and impartial source like the French courts.
Anonymous #33877536: Why should anyone be afraid of the truth? If the Scorpene deal was done legally and professionally and in the interests of the Malaysians, nobody should be afraid. But why all the obstacles and dramas?
Tan Kim Keong: "In the case of the Scorpene submarine deal, what is Suaram's interest? What interests do they have? Did they suffer losses from the deal?"
By asking these questions, it is very clear that Dzulkarnain is stupidity personified and that he represents those who think they are entitled to enrich themselves through corruption.
When will Dzulkarnain and people of his kind realise that they have been misled and that this blind obsequious obedience is keeping them from progressing forward.
Platform_Sinking: Dzulkarnain, why lodge a police report? Have you been robbed or beaten up? If our country has been robbed, would you be interested to know the truth? Who are you to question Suaram, which is doing a great service to the rakyat?
Multi Racial: Dzulkarnain questioned Suaram's interest in the Scorpene submarines. He questioned Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim's motive. He also said Scorpene is a domestic matter and should be kept internally.
I know Dzulkarnain is great shoe polisher. But is he stupid or what? Of course, Suaram has the right to bring this matter to Malaysians attention. After all, the country loss massive amount of taxpayers' money in this deal when paid much more than we should.
Of course, Anwar and opposition leader has the right to question this, otherwise we will be questioning him for keeping quiet like the rest of the BN MPs. Suaram has no choice but to go international as domestically none of the authorities is doing anything about it.
Fair Play: The noose is tightening. French lawyer William Bourdon's request to BN to guarantee his safety is merely a challenge. More interesting would be how they respond to it.
Ian2003: A report should be made against Dzulkarnain for lodging a mischief report and hence obstructing the police from doing their more urgent duty.
Suaram lawyers may relocate briefing to S'pore
Kim Quek: If the French lawyers are barred from entering Malaysia and our members of parliament are forced to cross the border to attend the briefing in Singapore or even in another neighbouring country, such an unusual setting for this potentially explosive event may create greater media sensation internationally.
It may end up landing our PM, and by extension, the entire BN leadership in hotter soup.
Mushiro: Suaram's lawyers were deported from Malaysia and later they were denied working permits. The Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) raided Suaram's office. Minister Ismail Sabri attacked Suaram.
The MSMs (mainstream media) wrote a whole load of spin about Suaram. This can only mean that Suaram has hit Najib's nerves.
Taikohtai: The smoke generated by Scorpene is worse than all the smog that engulfs Malaysia each year. The question is where is the fire? Najib is not telling.
