Some ‘no hudud’ stickers with the DAP logo have been discovered in the Selayang area, claimed the DAP.

Selangor DAP committee member Eric Tan, during a press conference at the Selayang Baru DAP branch, revealed that a number of the stickers were pasted on mosque and surau signboards.

“DAP members have been requested to remove the stickers to avoid misunderstanding,” said Tan, who discovered the stickers last Saturday.

The stickers are printed on an A4 white paper, with a colour DAP logo and ‘no hudud’ wording.

Tan said the stickers were found pasted on signboards at the Surau Malabar Hidayul Islam Selayang, the Taman Melati MCA branch and other premises.

Tan, who is also a Selayang municipal councillor, urged the people to remove the stickers and report the matter to the council and the police if necessary.

There has been controversy over the hudud law as Umno and MCA have questioned the DAP’s and PAS’ stance on the issue.

NONE Tan said he suspects that BN is the mastermind behind the acts, aimed at provocation and sabotaging the good relationship between PAS and the DAP.

“There is no reason for the DAP to do this, as we don’t gain anything from it.”

Asked specifically whether the MCA might be putting up the stickers, Tan said this is possible as the Selayang parliamentary constituency is traditionally contested by MCA.

A Murugeshu, who is Segambut DAP branch deputy chairperson, said the mastermind probably “wants to create some racial tensions”.

Selangor DAP organising secretary Lim Ching How said he will lodge a police report this afternoon.

When contacted, Selayang MCA division chairperson Tang See Hang denied MCA's involvement.

“I only knew about the issue when you informed me. We have never instructed anyone to do this. We don't do such things,” he said when contacted.
