Kajang municipal councillor Lee Kee Hiong today filed a suit against a former DAP member and a newspaper organisation for allegedly printing and publishing words which defamed her last year.
Kajang municipal councillor Lee Kee Hiong today filed a suit against a former DAP member and a newspaper organisation for allegedly printing and publishing words which defamed her last year.
Lee, 46, who filed the suit through the legal firm of Stella, Lim & Co at the High Court registry in Kuala Lumpur, named Yap Kon Min, 65, and Sin Chew Media Corporation Berhad as defendants.

), a Selangor DAP committee member, stated that the defendants had maliciously and wrongfully printed and published words which defamed her in the Sin Chew Daily newspaper on Aug 4 last year.
Lee claimed the words meant that she was the criminal who caused Teoh Beng Hock’s death, had misappropriated Selangor government funds, was involved in corruption and abused her power as a public servant.
She is seeking an injunction to prevent the defendants from further publishing defamatory words against her, general, aggravated and exemplary damages, a written apology by the defendants to be published in all newspapers, interest, costs and other relief which the court deems fit.
