'Perhaps Umno's RM40mil came from Soros'

YOURSAY 'I think based on the amount of RM40 million, it just can't be Musa Aman, because if he did it, it must be much more.'

Reveal sources of RM40mil 'contribution', gov't told

your say Tell The Truth: It's so easy to say that the RM40 million was political contribution. If so, prove it or else it is deemed to be money meant for Sabah CM Musa Aman's pocket, which means corruption.

Is the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) so stupid that they don't know how to probe further or is it another crony protection racket?

Not Confused: Maybe it was a secret contribution from currency speculator George Soros, passed through an intermediary with the ultimate intention of revealing this and embarrassing the ruling regime here.

A convoluted story, but given the politics here in Malaysia and the claim that Soros is trying to overthrow the government, it could be true. What a hoot!

AngryBird: It is perfectly all right for Umno to receive foreign funding for its activities, but for others, it is illegal to do so. Umno is a party full of scavengers who have forked tongues.

Fairnessforall: This is clearly a cover-up. If it was all legal, then why try to smuggle the money into the country and not just do a telegraphic transfer (TT). This is clear-cut corruption and still there are fools who believe in Umno.

Bumiputeri: I think based on the amount of RM40 million, it just can't be Musa Aman because if he did it, it must be much more than RM40 million.

Jedi_Who: Now Umno can be accused of being a tool of the communists (for receiving funds through bank accounts in Hong Kong, a special administrative zone of the People's Republic of China).

So a vote for Umno is a vote for former Communist Party of Malaya leader Chin Peng.

Or is this Perimekar's (a company involved in the purchase of the Scorpene submarines owned by PM Najib Razak's associate Abdul Razak Baginda) funds being distributed to be laundered to buy over candidates.

Opah: It could be Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim giving the money to Sabah Umno but sent it through Hong Kong in order to embarrass Musa.

See, even I can come up with a dumb reason without batting an eyelid.

Aries46: It could have been contributions from new incoming illegal immigrants making advance payments for their blue identity cards (ICs) under Project M 2.0.

That may be why minister Nazri argued that the money was perfectly legal and no element of corruption was involved.

Our esteemed MACC should reprimand Hong Kong's Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) for victimising our loyal citizen (timber tycoon Michael Chia) who was merely carrying out his patriotic duty to his country.

Transparency International-Malaysia (TI-M) should be told that Umno-BN could do no wrong. It is elements such as Suaram and Malaysiakini which are a serious threat to national security.

Timothy: Any money from whatever source (even if it is hand carried) meant for Umno or the Umno few are always without elements of corruption and are legal.

Indeed, it is also ridiculous for the Umno government to investigate money/funds related to their own party and members.

Can I say the RM40 million is from Soros as he was and is also a friend of Mahathir and Najib?

Bootsie: Former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad once said, "The Jews rule the world by proxy." So your guess is as good as mine.

God is great. They blamed Suaram for receiving foreign funds. Now what about them? Malay rights group Perkasa and the Young Journalists Club Malaysia, padan muka .

Progressive: Nazri and Umno, stop taking us for fools. Businessman Chia, who was caught red-handed in Hong Kong with Singapore currency worth RM40 million, said the money was for Musa.

Why should anyone dispute that? This is the height of corruption. A royal commission of inquiry (RCI) should be set up to investigate. RM40 million is a colossal sum.

Ipohcrite: This RM40 million is meant to ‘stabilise' the government, so it's for a good and patriotic cause.

Never mind where it came from, unlike the so-called RM20 million the NGOs received for destabilising the government.

Be patient, Perkasa will explain all to the rakyat in due course.

Sinner: All corrupt civil servants will now be able to beat the law when they are arrested for accepting bribes. Just say, "It's for Umno."

Who's the altruistic Sabah Umno backer?
