Khalid vs feudalism - plot to remove MB?

your say Ong Guan Sin: While many of us subconsciously indulge in ABU (Anything But Umno) to rid the country of the evil of Umno, we are also maturing in our approach to politics, which for decades have been tainted by Umno-BN's feudalism and divide-and-rule policies.

What this article by Nathaniel Tan does is to educate and share with us things that we may take for granted but are happening in the background. May the politics of principles prevails and Malaysia be blessed.

Selangor MB Abdul Khalid Ibrahim may not be a good and seasoned politician, but he is definitely an excellent administrator.

This is what a state government needs, a professional and a hands-on leader whom the rakyat can rely upon and trust in managing the abundant state wealth and resources honestly.

Azmin Ali, on the other hand, has no track record whatsoever to prove his competency in governing and governance.

Ksn: Khalid would fit in as a federal minister, no doubt, but as the author has correctly pointed out, there is a group, a selfish bunch, which wants to control Selangor.

This is exactly Umno's culture; they are jealous of the performance of Khalid. As the saying goes, bad habits die hard.

We all know who is behind this and why. Two names are in the public arena, and they are no good for PKR.

Anwar knows this too, but he keeps his elegant silence for reasons best known to him and his ever loyal assistant.

PAS has come out with their views on the man involved. What has DAP got to say, being the third partner of the coalition?

As for the political secretary to the MB, it is her duty to protect Khalid at all times. There is no need to be envious as she is doing her job.

So PKR has to make one or two hard decisions for the good of all - action that should have been taken at the party elections two years ago.

Amused Malaysian: Ksn has put it very well. It is unbelievable that Anwar allows this constant attack on one of the proven stars of PKR.

Selangor is thriving under the leadership of this ultimate professional. Anwar is certainly playing Umno-style politics. I wonder about his motives.

Kanasai: The problems in PKR are due to a lack of check and balance by de facto leader Anwar.

Anwar is fighting on all fronts against BN and this is well-documented by Mark Trowell QC in his book ‘Sodomy II', where the opposition leader was forced to devote much of his time in the courtroom.

Anwar does exhibit such feudalism where he favours some and condone their behaviour, even to the extent it tarnishes the smooth running of PKR.

For me at least, I do not want to see Khalid and his team dismantled.

Alicescat: I, too, would like to see Khalid and his team stay for a second term in the Selangor government.

Dont Just Talk: Azmin Ali, as a voter from Selangor I would suggest that you leave Khalid alone and if elected, he should be allowed to continue to be the Selangor MB for a second term.

This is because his track record in managing Selangor is as good as Lim Guan Eng's in Penang. Please keep your personal ambitions in check for you might do more harm than good to PKR in general, and Pakatan in particular.

Blind Freddo: This case is additional proof that Pakatan, like Umno, is not remotely interested in Malaysia and Malaysians. All that these insecure men want is power.

And that's not at all surprising, considering their basic philosophy. If Malaysians benefit from their power-grabbing and money grubbing, it is probably by chance and not by design

Jean Pierre: Much as I share most of the writer's opinion, the fact that he is a consultant to the Selangor government makes it look like it's tinged with an obvious agenda.

Plot to remove MB Khalid? - Part II

Fair Play: First and foremost, Khalid is a very successful man, financially and otherwise before he took up politics, unlike most politicians who use politics as a launching pad.

So, he can afford to do what he wants without worrying too much about taking care of party supporters. The right thing to do is often the hardest thing to do.

Perhaps, it is apt to say that he is ahead of his time in Malaysian politics. Malaysia needs more politicians of his caliber for the nation to move forward and able to compete with the best there is.

Moontime: Khalid is not a career politician but a technocrat. A good one, that is. Despite his shortcomings, he has managed to achieve in the last four years more than all other MBs combined.

He doesn't play politics like Azmin, who has declared openly his lust for the MB's post. I say lust because he is a by-product of Umno

Anwar must realise that letting Azmin loose in Selangor is bad news for the state. Nothing good shall ever come out from this man.

The Sabah debacle, the controversy regarding his election to deputy president and his family problems are some of the traits that made me dislike this man.

PKR should heed the writing on the wall regarding Azmin and remove him from the corridors of power before it's too late.

Franco: There are some good administrators out there, but they will not survive a day in politics. However, Khalid has proven he can.

Pakatan needs more people like Khalid and when you govern with wanting to do the right thing for the rakyat, trust me, more capable candidates like Khalid will come forward to lend their knowledge, skill and expertise.
