The investigation report on the case involving Anwar Ibrahim's personal bodyguard who reportedly pointed a gun at the public, has been presented to the Attorney-General's Chambers, said Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Ismail Omar today.
Anwar's bodyguard allegedly committed the act during a Parti Keadilan Rakyat function in Kampung Baru Rim, Malacca in September.
"We leave it to the AG for further action," he told reporters after the awards and honours investiture ceremony in conjunction with the 74th birthday of Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob, at Dewan Seri Negeri, Ayer Keroh.
He was commenting on media reports of ‘Kumpulan Tolak Individu Bernama Anwar Ibrahim’, a group rejecting Anwar, which had questioned the length of time taken for the investigation even though all evidence had been provided.
Meanwhile, Ismail, who was awarded the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM) which carried the title of Datuk Wira, said it was a recognition of the Royal Malaysia Police' services.
