The People's Progressive Party (PPP) is eyeing two seats which it hopes the incumbent Gerakan party would decline to defend in the next general election.

PPP president M Kayveas named the parliamentary seats as Simpang Renggam in Johor and Gerik in Perak, which Gerakan is understood to have conceded to hold for just a solitary term.

Simpang Renggam is presently represented by Liang Teck Meng while Gerik by Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism deputy minister Tan Lian Hoe.

He told this to reporters before chairing the party's supreme council meeting in Kuala Lumpur today.

Also present was Information, Communications and Culture deputy minister Maglin Dennis D'Cruz, who is also senior vice-president of PPP.
