Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) commuter service, electric train and inter-city services to the north and south will be disrupted from today until Saturday following some commuter train coaches going off the track in Kuala Lumpur last night.

KTM Commuter Customer Service Division senior manager Shahril Sahak said three commuter train coaches went off the track between the Simpang Batu and Putra stations at 10.55 last night.

Following the incident, all KTMB train services were forced to undergo changes in travel time of between 15 minutes to an hour, Shahril said.

This was because all trains were forced to wait for their turn to use the same track, the Putra Station track, to the Bank Negara Station before heading for the respective destinations.

Shahril said work to repair the damaged track between the Simpang Batu Station and Putra Station was under way and was expected to be fully completed tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Land Public Transport Commission, together with KTMB, is to inspect the repaired track tomorrow night before the track is allowed to be fully used on Saturday morning, he said.

"KTMB will inform from time to time on the latest status on its services," Shahril added.
