A Malaysian Highway Authority spokesperson said north and south bound traffic were at a crawl at the Jalan Duta and Sungai Besi Toll Plazas and slowing down heading to the east coast at the Karak Toll.
An accident at Km279.4 near the Nilai rest area had also contributed to the congestion, he said.
A Plus Twitter posting said traffic was slow at the Penang Bridge, near the Bukit Tambun stretch and Putra Mahkota junction at the Seremban rest area.
The public were advised to follow the travel schedule issued by Plus until Sunday.
Vehicles with odd numbered plates entering the Johor Second Link Causeway and Penang Bridge were advised to access the highways at odd hours such as 9am, 1pm and 7pm, while those with even numbers should start at even hours.
