The public can still give their suggestions, opinions and comments to the Public Land Transport Commission (Spad) before the National Land Transport Master Plan is implemented.

Spad Policy, Planning and Research head, Dr Prodyutt Dutt, said besides public forums, they could send their suggestions on ways to improve efficiency of public transportation in the country through the Spad website.

"Public opinion is important because they are the ones who are going to use the service, and if possible, we want to improve the existing service to make it more efficient, faster and easier," he said at a public transport forum in Petaling Jaya today.

He said Spad had yet to decide on the deadline for the public to give their feedbacks, but that their suggestions, opinions and comments would be used as inputs for the master plan.

Meanwhile, forum coordinator, Simon Karunagaram, said the forum was held to provide a venue for the public to interact directly with the parties involved.

He said the forum would also  be held in other states to gather feedbacks from the public on public transport.

Among matters raised at today's forum, were on facilities for persons with disabilities and buses arriving not according to schedule.
