Flood conditions in four states - Perak, Malacca, Selangor and Johor worsened in the afternoon as the number of flood victims evacuated increased to 4,255 as of 6pm, compared with 3,684 yesterday afternoon.

According to the National Security Council website, Johor registered the highest number of victims with 1,979, followed by Selangor (1,957), Perak (203) and Malacca (116).
However, thus far no casualties were reported or major roads closed.
According to the website, 31 flood relief centres have been opened in the four states, namely 17 in Johor (Batu Pahat, Ledang), Selangor 8 (Kuala Langat, Sepang and two each in Melaka Tengah, Jasin and Lower Perak.
Meanwhile, Women, Family and Community Development Deputy Minister Senator Heng Seai Kie said 1,158 families have registered at flood relief centres.
“The Welfare Department has provided all the basic needs to victims, especially food, blankets, sleeping mats and other essential needs,” she said.
