Selangor and Malacca recorded a drop in the number of flood victims tonight with recording 1,947 people and 107 respectively who are still staying at the relief centres.

As such, the number of flood victims at relief centres tonight had dropped to 4,245 from 4,255 people this evening.

According to the National Security Council's (MKN) portal website, however, Johor recorded an increase of nine people, from 1,979 people to 1,988 flood victims, and Perak remains the same with 203 victims.

However, to date, there had been no closure of roads or loss of life from floods following heavy rains since last week.

MKN in its portal report also recorded a drop in the number of relief centres operating from 31 to 29 tonight, with the highest in BatuPahat (16), Kuala Langat (five), Sepang (three), Hilir Perak (two) and one each in Melaka Tengah, Jasin and Ledang.

In Malacca, a state flood operations room spokesman said 103 people were relocated to Tehel, four in Bukit Katil while the centre in Kesang Barat, Jasin which was opened since Sunday, was closed this evening.

In Perak, Hilir Perak police chief ACP Goh Kok Liang said, all victims were still at three flood relief centres, namely, at Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu 7, Changat Jong, Surau and the Sungai Manik multi-purpose hall.

In Johor, the Sungai Muar Drainage and Irrigation Department portal in Buluh Kasap indicated a reading of below normal, namely, 7.54 metres compared to the normal reading of 15.5 metres.
