Mara has targeted 500 millionaires from among bumiputra entrepreneurs by 2020.

Mara deputy director-general (entrepreneurs) Mohd Rosdi Ismail said today, the agency had provided numerous programmes to increase the number of bumiputera millionaires.

"Until now, 157 millionaires have emerged from Mara programmes and we hope the number will increase from time to time," he told reporters after a carnival and an exhibition of entrepreneurs' products in Marang.

According to Mohd Rosdi, a millionaire as defined by Mara, referred to those who earned not less than RM2 million in a year. He said, between January and September this year, Mara had given out RM475 million in loans to 5,375 entrepreneurs nationwide.
