The Singapore president has appointed Sundaresh Menon as Chief Justice of Singapore and Presidential Council for Minority Rights (Council) chairperson, effective yesterday.

NONE He was sworn in for both appointments at the Istana today.

Menon was born in Singapore in 1962. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore in 1986, and later obtained a Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School in 1991.

He is married with three children.
