The Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V, today chaired the 230th meeting of the Conference of Rulers at the Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur.

The meeting was attended by all the rulers except the sultans of Kedah, Perak, Pahang and Johor.

Kedah was represented by the chairperson of the Kedah Council of Regency Tunku Annuar Sultan Badlishah; Perak, by the Regent, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah Sultan Azlan Shah; Pahang, by the Regent, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah; and Johor, by the Regent, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.   

The rulers were accompanied by their respective menteris besar except in the case of Kelantan. Deputy Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakub represented the menteri besar.  

The Yang d-Pertuas Negeri of Penang, Sabah and Malacca were accompanied by their respective chief ministers while the Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negeri was accompanied by state Housing and Urban Development Minister Abang Johari Abang Openg.

A banquet would be held at Istana Negara tonight in conjunction with the meeting.
