Heng Seai Kie will complete her duty as deputy women, family and community development minister on Thursday when her senatorship expires on that date, chief secretary to the government Dr Ali Hamsa said today.

She has served two terms as a senator, from Nov 16, 2006, the maximum period allowed for any individual under the federal constitution, he said in a statement.  

Ali expressed his appreciation and thanks to Heng for her services as a senator and deputy minister.

Heng, 50, who is Wanita MCA vice-chairperson, was appointed deputy women, family and community development minister on June 4, 2010.
