The Jalan Ampang-Hulu Langat road has been temporarily closed due to a landslide at the observation tower in Bukit Ampang today.

Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Amiruddin Jamaludin said the landslide was believed to have occurred following heavy downpours over the past several days.

“Hence, the public are advised to use alternative roads,” he told Bernama in Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, a Selangor Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said the department was notified about the landslide at 6.11pm.

He said the debris from the landslide, which involves a hilly area of 50sq metres, had covered the road, hence causing disruption to the traffic flow.

“However, no casualties were reported in the incident,” he told Bernama via SMS.
