The Malaysian police training module has become a reference for security forces at international level, said federal police management department director Mortadza Nazarene.

He said the Malaysian police were asked to conduct the training module in several countries, covering all aspects, including training on management, investigation and crowd control.

"Last year, we held the International Senior Command Course where its original objective was to network.

NONE "As a result of the course, they (foreign countries) found that PDRM was a good source for training methodology.

"They are confident with the module we have, after visiting several police training centres (Pulapol) here, and we recently completed a two-week training stint for the Royal Lesotho Mounted Police in Lesotho, Africa," he said.

Mortadza was speaking to Bernama after a handing-over ceremony involving the post of deputy director of management (training) in Kuala Lumpur today.

Currently, the Malaysian police were conducting a training module for the Maldives security force, he said, adding that a seven-year training module was also held for Bangladesh.

Earlier, federal principal assistant director of management (training and competency) SAC Paramasivam Arunasalam, who is acting Bukit Aman management (training) deputy director, handed the post to Kuala Lumpur Police College commandant DCP Shabudin Abdul Wahab.
