The High Court in Kuantan today was informed that several items, including panties, bra, a pair of sandals, long pants and snowcap, were among the 40 items which were identified as case exhibits by the 13th prosecution witness in the murder case of French tourist, Stephanie Foray in Pulau Tioman last year.  

The witness, investigating officer Insp Shuhada Salim who resumed her testimony today, was asked to identify the items by deputy public prosecutor Salim Soib @ Hamid and confirmed that all the things belonged to Foray and were found in the accused Asni Omar’s house on Aug 9 2011.  

Shuhada also identified several other things related to the case, which were a pillow, a bolster, a big and a small mattress, all found in a hole, in a cave near the accused’s house on the same day.

In today’s proceedings the accused’s lawyer, Muhammad Hisham Abdul Rahim and his team Ng See Teong and Ibrahim Kamaruddin, sought permission from the judge, Mariana Yahya to inspect the items, which were then marked as court exhibits.  

The request was allowed by the judge with no objections from the prosecution team, Salim, Nor Azizah Mohamad and Farahah Mohd Nazari.

Asni, 37, a petty trader, was charged with murdering Foray at an unnumbered house in Kampung Tekek, Pulau Tioman, Rompin between 8 pm, May 10 and 12 noon, on May 12, last year.  

The trial resumes tomorrow.
