Tension filled the air at the Selangor State Assembly today, when an opposition member lambasted the menteri besar for presenting what he claimed was an incomprehensible budget, sparking a tiff with the speaker.

NONE Taman Templer member, Subahan Kamal, criticised Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim when he was winding-up the debate on the 2013 Budget speech.

"I am blurred (bingung) as I do not understand what the menteri besar is saying. Is this an accounting lecture at UiTM or budget presentation?" he asked, resulting in State Assembly speaker Teng Chang Khim asking Subahan to withdraw the word (bingung) as it had bad intention.

Subahan replied he had no problem withdrawing the word and said the menteri besar understood what he meant.

However, Teng insisted that Subahan should really withdraw the word.

"I withdrew that word (bingung)," said Subahan, prompting several opposition representatives from BN, such as Amiruddin Setro (BN-Jeram), to protest against Teng's action.

A shouting match ensued, causing the microphone system to be switched off, before Teng ordered Amiruddin out of the assembly for an hour at 5.10pm.

Calm returned to the house, enabling the menteri besar to complete his speech. The state assembly will sit again tomorrow.
