The police will be out in full force to control traffic during the Umno General Assembly which begins this Monday at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) said Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Amar Singh Ishar Singh.

He said the police had carefully planned for the assembly as more than 5,000 Umno delegates were expected to turn up, besides 1,782 media personnel.

"Our men have started their duties around PWTC from today," he said when contacted by Bernama .

He added that police would also increase their presence to ensure security throughout the assembly period.
