The Malaysian football squad is now through to the semi finals of the AFF Suzuki Cup tournament after beating Indonesia 2-0 in the Group B match at the Bukit Jalil Nasional Stadium.

Azamuddin Akil scored at the 26th minute while teammate Mahali Jasuli found the net just three minutes later.

Indonesia needed only a draw in order to qualify for the next stage while it was a must win situation for Malaysia.
