How long must Shah Alam wait for a hospital?

VOXPOP 'The unbelievable thing is that they overpaid the former contractor in advance just because she was a ‘somebody'.'

Shah Alam Hospital 'ready next October'

vox populi small thumbnail Anonymous_4154: In 2009, the works minister said it would be completed in 2010, then in 2010 he said it would be completed in 2011, then the project was abandoned for two years and now he returns to say that it will be completed next year.

Same old story by the same people, year in year out. Guess what he will say next year? No surprise if the same thing is said if the same people are involved.

Chandran Siva: With this kind of costs, there could have been two hospitals in Shah Alam. Was any action taken against the previous contractor? If no action was taken, this government should be kicked out in GE13.

Shameless government. Where is the accountability?

Fair&Just: It is not problematic; it's only the BN's corrupt system that delayed the project.

A transparent and clean accounting report is needed as it was alleged millions of ringgit were disbursed before any work was done. Now is the time to come clean on the cost overruns.

Gotcha: The original contract was given to someone with poor knowledge in construction. The government should sue the original project owner for damages. Don't waste the rakyat's money.

Akutuan: Works Minister Shaziman Abu Mansor, why the selected tender? I think any class A CIDB G7 contractor should be allow to tender.

First, do the pre-qualification exercise. Second, only those who qualified in Pre-Q can put in their bid. Third, the lowest contractor gets the job.

This exercise had been practised in World Bank and Asian Development Bank projects and are proven effective. We save cost and avoid all these hanky-panky.

For whatever reasons, direct negotiation and selected tender can be manipulated. But Umno contractors will be crying if this be implemented.

Mushiro: After a delay of more than two years and cost overruns of more than RM500 million, only now both the Health Ministry and the Works Ministry claim they are monitoring the project.

The unbelievable thing is that they overpaid the former contractor in advance just because she was a ‘somebody'.

Wira: Shouldn't his royal highness comment about this betrayal of trust with public money?

More Malay support for DAP due to weak PKR?

Jiminy Qrikert: It's great that you see Umno just as Chinese and Indians see MCA and MIC for what they truly are - corrupt money-grabbing parties who care only about themselves.

They want to see Malaysia brought to its knees before they will give up their corrupt ways. The more we are able to see one another as Malaysians and not Malays, Indians and Chinese in different camps, the stronger Malaysia will become.

Penang Umno Youth chief Shaik Hussein Mydin is just mouthing the divide-and-rule strategy of BN and applying it to DAP and PKR.

He thinks that as DAP gets stronger, PKR will weaken. He does not give allowance for both DAP and PKR to increase in strength.

As more Malays join DAP and more Chinese join PKR and PAS, the more balanced Pakatan will become as it moves ahead to build a Malaysia for all Malaysians.

All of us must play our part to bring down BN. Only when BN is down and out can Malaysia become truly great.

KnockKnock: To all Malaysians, be wise. We need not be a member of any political party, just put an 'X' next to any party except BN. Let's give Pakatan Rakyat a chance and see if they walk the talk which I strongly believe they will.

I want to buy cheap cars, I want to see the petrol price reduced, I want to see all the corrupted and bad hats brought to court.

Starr: Can the same not be said about Umno being strong, MCA weak? The relative strength of a party is a matter of conjuncture.

Boiling Mud: The increase in DAP branches does indicates a surge in support from the Nibong Tebal area. However, it does not mean a decrease in the PKR support.

The surge in support could have come from the fence sitters or from those who are undergoing a socio-political awakening.

As there is no head-count from PKR to determine whether there is actually an exodus of membership to other parties, in sum - the more accurate interpretation is an overall increase in support for Pakatan.

This Youth chief from Umno isn't really very good at data analysis and interpretation, is he?

Onyourtoes: What a great favour - political opponents telling Pakatan their weaknesses and also how to overcome them.

Thank you very much, Kepala Batas Youth chief Reezal Merican Naina Merican and Shaik Hussein Mydin. We appreciate the help.

Are there any more weaknesses that you have detected? Please tell Pakatan early for them to rectify. If Umno and BN have leaders like Reezal and Mydin, they need no enemies.

Apapunboleh: MCA won on the generosity of Umno supporters. Is Umno going to take back all the seats to save its skin?
