Probe charge by ex-IGP Musa, says Johor PAS Youth

Johor PAS Youth has lodged a police report against Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein over the allegation of former inspector-general of police Musa Hassan that during his tenure as IGP, Hishammuddin meddled with police affairs.
The report was lodged at the Kluang police station yesterday by Johor PAS secretary Mahathir Mat Zili.
According to the police report, the such interference in police affairs goes against Section 4(1) of the Police Act 1967, which stipulates that the command and control of the police is by the IGP and not by the minister.
"This allegation is very serious and has great impact on the stability of the police force. Hence Hishammuddin should resign to make way for a transparent and independent probe," the report says.
In a statement issued yesterday, Johor PAS Youth urged the authorities to set up a committee to investigative the allegation.
"If the allegation is true, then the home minister must be punished. If the allegation is false, then Musa should be penalised.
"Malaysians want to see the police free from wrongful elements," Johor PAS Youth chief Suhaizan Kayat said in the statement.
