Pahang recorded over 3,000 housebreaking cases in the last three years with losses totalling over RM25 million, the state assembly heard today.     

However, the police managed to solve 40.31 percent of housebreaking cases during daytime and 41.92 percent of housebreaking cases at night.     

Menteri Besar Adnan Yaacob said from 2010 to 2012, there were 878 cases of housebreaking cases during daytime involving losses of RM6.6 million.     

"There were 2,602 cases of housebreaking at night involving losses of RM19.3 million," he said when replying to a question from Wan Salman Wan Ismail (BN-Jengka) in Kuantan today.     

Adnan said the crime index seemed to have increased as it took into account theft of motorcycles and bicycles.     

"The increase was caused by theft of motorcycles and bicycles as it was a condition and must be included in the housebreaking reports," he added.
