Anak convoy fails to enter Felda area in Terengganu

In the incident which started at 5pm and ended at 6.30pm, about 200 settlers and their families from Felda Selasih, gathered peacefully since 3pm to block the entry of the convoy at the main entrance of the scheme.
The 200-strong convoy, comprising 80 four-wheel drive vehicles, headed by Anak president Mazlan Aliman (

) negotiated with the Felda Development and Security Committee headed by chairperson Alias Abdul Ghani but was still denied entry.
They left for Felda Tenang, Hulu Besut at 6.30pm.
Meanwhile, Besut police chief Supt Kamaruddin Mohd Zakaria, when met at the scene said, police officers were stationed at the entrance to control the situation but no untoward incident took place.
Meanwhile, Setiu parliamentarian Mohd Jidin Shafee said there was no reason for foreign elements to enter the land schemes as they settlers were enjoying a peaceful life.
He said an opposition sponsored group tried to enter several land schemes, including Felda Selasih, yesterday to disrupt the peace enjoyed by settlers.
"I am thankful they had rejected the group," he told reporters after opening the Jabi State Assembly Senior Citizens' Club, near Besut, today.
