Feb 18 case management for Nurul Izzah's defamation suit
The Kuala Lumpur High Court today fixed Feb 18, next year for the case management of the defamation suit filed by Lembah Pantai member of Parliament Nurul Izzah Anwar against Utusan Malaysia editor-in-chief Aziz Ishak and Utusan Melayu (Malaysia) Berhad.

Judge VT Singham set the date in the presence of Nurul Izzah's lawyer, Azhana Mohd Khairudin and counsel for Utusan , Nur Atasha Juhaidi Yean Abdullah.
Nurul Izzah filed the suit on Nov 23, claiming Aziz and Utusan had twisted the statements she had made during a forum on the freedom of religion for Malays.
She claimed that the newspaper had published four articles containing defamatory statements against her on Nov 6 and 7, this year.
Nurul Izzah is seeking an apology and retraction of the alleged defamatory statements from the defendants, apart from general, exemplary and aggravated damages.
