The Selangor government will review the 'burdensome' assessment rates for next year, imposed on residents in Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh and Kampung Baru Subang.

Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said, a discussion would be held with the Shah Alam City Hall (MBSA) for further action.     

"We will discuss with MBSA soon to scrutinise the issue...and we will do the needful to ensure the rates are not a burden," he told reporters after attending an event for youths in Shah Alam today.   

He said the state government would carry out the review based on procedures, in accordance with the Local Government Act 1976.     

Subang MCA division chairperson Lee Wei Kiat was recently reported to have said the rates imposed on residents in the two areas, raised up to 10 times, were excessive and wanted them to be withdrawn.
