Chandra Mohan and Syed Husin take oath as senators
Workers' rights activist Chandra Mohan and former PKR deputy president Dr Syed Husin Ali took their oath of office as senators today.
Workers' rights activist, Chandra Mohan and former PKR deputy president Dr Syed Husin Ali took their oath of office as senators today.
Chandra Mohan, 59, who is also the Sg Chua DAP branch chairperson, in Kajang and the deputy chairperson of the Ulu Langat DAP division, was appointed a senator for the first term.
He is also a council member of the Kajang Municipal Council since 2008 until now.
Syed Husin, 76, whose tenure of service as a member of the Dewan Negara for one term ended yesterday, was reappointed for another term.
He had served as president of Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) from 1990 until 2001 and had written almost 20 books, including ' Pimpinan Masyarakat Kampung' , ' Masa Depan Orang Melayu' , 'Kemiskinan dan Kelaparan Tanah di Kelantan ' and ' Dua Wajah '.
