The weather in the peninsula is expected to be cloudy but no rain is forecasted while several areas in Sabah and Sarawak can expect a wet Christmas on Tuesday.

According to a statement from the Malaysian Meteorological Department, rain is expected in Kuching, Sarekei and Mukah in Sarawak; Kudat and Sandakan in Sabah.

In the evening, thunderstorms are expected in several states in the peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak.

Thunderstorms are expected in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Malacca, Johor, Kuching, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu and Mukah in Sarawak and Sandakan in Sabah and the interiors.

Meanwhile, intermittent and continuous rain is expected in the states on the east coast of the peninsula from early morning until night on Tuesday, added the statement.
