Muhyiddin says Nik Aziz 'mulut celupar'

Muhyiddin Yassin has described PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat as a person who likes to 'shoot his mouth off' and makes his own 'fatwa' or edict when he describes the Malays who support Umno as 'evil'.
The deputy pime mnister said the statement was made following the deviationist fatwa made by the PAS leader every time the general election drew near.
"This is another proof that Nik Aziz issued a fatwa that did not comply with Islamic teachings when he described this evil group as infidels, Umno supporters are Pharoahs and many other cruel statements," he told reporters after attending a special meeting with Terengganu government officers and professionals in Kuala Terengganu today.
He said this when asked to comment on the statement by Nik Aziz two days ago emphasising that he would not retire from politics as long as there were Malays who supported Umno, describing them as 'evil'.
‘He makes his own fatwa’
Muhyiddin said such statements by the PAS leader aimed to influence the voters not to support the Umno and BN candidates in the coming general election.
"I am concerned because this (matter) is not new, Nik Aziz frequently shoots off his mouth, just saying anything that is not based on Islamic teachings, he makes his own fatwa, many ulamas dispute his fatwa," he said.
Muhyiddin said what Nik Aziz was doing was merely to divide the Muslims, adding: "This is among the reasons for disunity among the Muslims because of the deviationist fatwa by the PAS leader."
Referring to the 'hudud' law issue, Muhyiddin said the BN government had never rejected Islamic law.
