Selangor Barisan Nasional (BN) with the cooperation of BN-friendly non-governmental organisations has identified 5,000 individuals in the state who are interested to join the coalition.
Selangor BN coordinator Mohd Zin Mohamed said they would join BN through direct membership at a function to be held during the Karnival Sayangi Selangor (Love Selangor Carnival) at i-City in Klang.
“This is part of BN’s effort of enggaging NGOs in reaching out to the people,” he told reporters after attending the 11th anniversary of a Hindu temple in Kapar today.
Mohd Zin said Selangor BN had solved many “stateless” cases involving Indian Malaysians and urged several quarters not to politicise the issue.
He also said that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak had given new hope for the people through his government and economic transformation programmes to uplift the quality of living in the country.
On the four-day carnival to be held from Dec 29, Mohd Zin said the public could enjoy free parking throughout the carnival.
