Deputy Transport Minister Abdul Rahim Bakri has called on the people to be wary of certain quarters who are trying to challenge the credibility of the government system and the rule of law.

He said those quarters had been trying to destroy people's trust in the existing government as well as in the legislative, judicial and election systems, and had been condemning government's decisions by creating negative perceptions.

NONE "These quarters are making optimal use of the alternative media, hence making it difficult for any actions to be taken against them.

"Most of them are using cyber-based attack from a foreign land, so they are free to attack the government.

"With this mechanism, they can influence the people to fight the government, just like what happened in the Middle East which they called the Arab Spring.

"The people must understand their agenda of 'end justifies the means'," he said when addressing the people in Kampung Sri Aman near Kudat yesterday.

Abdul Rahim, who is also Kudat MP, said the trap set up by these quarters would succeed in capturing prey if the people were not aware of their agenda.

"The people can only avoid the trap by staying united," he said.

Earlier, Abdul Rahim also distributed aid to 250 poor families and announced the implementation of mini projects that would benefit the people in the village.
