The 1Malaysia Brothers (1MB) club is ready to mobilise its election machinery to assist BN in facing the 13th general election at any time, said its patron Hamzah Zainuddin.

He said the 1MB club, which merges all non-governmental organisations, had set up its election machinery voluntarily to support the leadership of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"I notice there is a strong solidarity among the members of the NGOs regardless of race and background in conjunction with its first general meeting today and there were several other non-governmental organisations that were keen to be affiliated and support our cause," he told reporters at the Han Chiang College, in George Town last night.

Hamzah, who is also the Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, believed the 1MB could provide a significant influence in changing the political landscape in the state after the election.

"This is because they (1MB members) believe that if the BN continues to lead the country and take over Penang, many development agenda for the people would be brought into the state and the welfare of the people would be safeguarded," he said.
