Penang DAP has a list of 45 names to choose from to make up its candidate list for the coming 13th general election.

The state DAP chief Chow Kon Yeow said the names - which includes parliamentary and state seats - have not been shortlisted yet, however.

NONE "They will only be shortlisted when the Parliament is dissolved," said Chow ( left ) in a press conference today.

"Until today, none of the (state assemblypersons or members of Parliament) have expressed their desire not to contest," added the state executive councillor for environment, local council and transportation.

Penang DAP has 19 state seats and seven parliamentary seats with Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, his deputy P Ramasamy, and Chow holding both seats.

On the other hand, Penang PKR holds nine state seats and one parliamentary seat, while PAS holds one. PKR had earlier won three parliamentary seats in Bayan Baru, Balik Pulau, and Nibong Tebal.

Meanwhile, Chow refuted allegations that Sungai Puyu assemblyperson and state exco member Phee Boon Poh will not be contesting in the coming general election.

"This includes the rumour which involves Guan Eng's sister, Lim Hui Ying, who was rumoured to replace Jawi assemblyperson Tan Beng Huat ( right ) in the state seat," said the Tanjung MP.

"These are rumours created to tarnish the image of the party, doubts among supporters, and make voters lose confidence in the party," he added.
