Two former Selangor DAP leaders claimed they have received threats through the short-message service (SMS) to stop holding press conferences criticising the party's top leadership and the weaknesses in the party.

One of them, former Pantai Sepang Putra DAP branch chairperson R Vellasamy, 45, said he would not keep quiet despite receiving such a threat, describing it as a cowardly and unprofessional act.

He, however, said that he had not lodged a police report over the threat.

"I received a text via SMS warning me not to hold anymore press conference in Jenjarom. We are not afraid of such a warning. We want truth and justice.

"We cannot be silent when there are wrongdoings and abuse of power in the party.

“They (DAP top leaders) always accuse Barisan Nasional of things...'this is wrong, and that is wrong' but actually, it's DAP that is wrong," he said.        

‘Cancel DAP’s CEC results’

Vellasamy had earlier handed over a memorandum to the office of the Registrar of Societies (ROS) on the alleged DAP central executive committee election fraud, in Putrajaya today.

The CEC election was held last Dec 15.

Meanwhile, former DAP Taman Megah Cheras vice-chairperson Lee Chee Cheng, 53, urged ROS to cancel the CEC election results .

"The notebook of the CEC election returning officer and the manual vote-count log should be surrendered to ROS for investigation," he said.

Vellasamy and Lee also denied that they were being traitors to DAP by raising the CEC election issue.

"We are protesting because of dissatisfaction and not because we were ordered or asked to raise the issue by certain quarters.

"Our intention is not to destroy the party as alleged by some party national leaders. Definitely not. We just want justice," he said.

They had also lodged a police report over the DAP CEC election results on Jan 24.
