Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today said that opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim was never sympathetic towards the people of Sabah when he was deputy prime minister.
"Now he puts on a sad face, trying to show that he sympathises with Sabah which purportedly does not receive enough allocations," he said.
Najib hoped the people would not fall for the empty promises made by the opposition which, he said, was only good at talking and pretending to be sympathetic towards the 'rakyat', especially in Sabah.
"They (opposition leaders) have different dreams... that is why they cannot guarantee a more secure future for the people," he said at a gathering with people in the Papar parliamentary constituency.
The prime minister said the people should be wise in choosing a government with the power and capability to fulfil the promises made to them.
"We (Barisan Nasional) will always carry out transformation towards something positive or better for the people's own future.
"We don't want an uncertain future and to do things that will be questioned by the people," he said.
