Supporters of political parties have been reminded to show maturirty and not be emotional to avoid triggering unwanted incidents during the 13th general election.

Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali said everyone must accept whatever result of the general election with an open heart and show responsibility.

He said the presence of incitement by agent provocateurs would create an atmosphere of unrest and threaten national security.

“We urge Malaysians to face the coming general election with calm.

"Don’t take decision in your own hands by causing chaos if the result is not in favour of any one party,” he told reporters after chairing the Perkasa supreme council meeting in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Ibrahim said the street protests envisaged by the opposition would only destroy the nation’s peace and would be of no benefit to all parties.
