Just part and parcel of the 'spin' culture

YOURSAY ‘The throwing of rice and splashing of water were actually tell-tale signs that the perpetrators didn't want to hurt the targets.'

Guan Eng demands proof of threat to PM's life

your say Not Confused: If Korean pop star Psy's life had been threatened - requiring constant close chaperoning by a bunch of thugs in blue uniforms - and rushed out to the airport to fly out at 2am in the morning, then how was he able to spend three hours in a Korean restaurant earlier that evening? Please don't insult our intelligence.

It looks like Penang BN chief Teng Chang Yeow is just a drama merchant, desperately trying to create a smokescreen to mask and deflect the negative attention generated by his badly organised ‘Psy event' in Penang.

I seriously doubt that there was any threat at all - it's all in Teng's rather strange imagination. It is highly amusing to see the cracks appearing in the BN hierarchy and its subsequent panicky desperation.

Onyourtoes: I think everybody knows that after committing the biggest fiasco in history, what BN is doing now is damage control. So they came up with the threat to the PM, threat to Psy, the throwing of rice on the PM and the splashing of water on the PM's son.

Teng, just admit it; just say you were sorry for the fiasco and as a result of that, you and your group of nincompoops have caused serious embarrassment to PM Najib Razak and former PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

You should apologise to all Malaysians because our PM was left standing on stage. Remember that he is the symbol of Malaysia, as proclaimed by Tourism Minister Ng Yen Yen. Then maybe, just maybe, Malaysians will find some space in their hearts to forgive you.

Whatsup: It is really getting ridiculous and so childish of Gerakan and Umno to spin such tales, obviously to embarrass the Penang government.

Threats from Perkasa against the Christians, the ‘No-No-No' sabotaging, an alleged attempt on Psy's life, and now the PM's... all these conveniently happened in Penang.

So what's next, Gerakan/Umno? Come on, you may have conned the rakyat for the past 55 years, don't think for a second that you can con us again. Enough of your nonsense to discredit the excellently-governed Penang by DAP.

Violent obstructions and the throwing of projectiles are the hallmarks of Umno. Wasn't it so at opposition ceramah s (talks) where some even got hurt? It's not far-fetched to conclude that these are acts of self-infliction by Umno-BN.

The throwing of rice at a corner of the stage and the splashing of mineral water are actually tell-tale signs that the perpetrators didn't want to hurt the targets, unlike those projectiles hurled at opposition ceramahs . Anyway, only Umno is capable of such violence.

Vote4Change: Teng, you are the one that I still respect among the Gerakan jokers, but I don't like your leader. I know you are simply learning to lie and spin like the other BN components.

For the sake of Penang and to retain your pride, please keep your mouth shut and people won't say you are 'air kao' (dumb). At least, you will be able to gain some respect. You are still a good apple, but it looks like you have joined the wrong party.

Solaris: From viewing the YouTube video , it can be clearly seen that there was no hurry for anyone to get off the stage. It was all very cool and the incident has obviously caused severe embarrassment to the PM and BN.

GeneYen: BN is leading everyone up into dangerous territory. For everyone's sanity and safety, just stay cool.

We are all aware of their desperation, and if, in the following weeks, similar strategic plans like these are detected, it's best if we all be prepared for some ‘interruptions' to our daily life.

Heavywater.: First, it was Psy's life which was threatened, now it is the PM's. Please make up your mind before you speak.

Who is being threatened, and by whom? One day this, another day that. Does BN have nothing else to do? They seem to have so much free time to think up all these excuses for their PM.

Clearwater: I have little sympathy for Teng, but Penang CM Lim Guan Eng should let up and not bash the poor guy anymore. Don't continue kicking a man when he's down.

CiViC: When someone so much as utter words that were deemed threatening to the PM on Facebook , he was immediately arrested. And yet, nothing happens here. Well, we know the truth, don't we?

Jaguh: In any case, the correct protocol is for the PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) to inform the chief minister of any impending catastrophe in the state, even if it's Pakatan-ruled. Where is the protocol?

Is Teng more important than Lim Guan Eng? This needs to change after GE13. No matter what, the head of state government is still the head of the state government.

Kairos: What Teng cooked up is part and parcel of the 'spin' culture prevalent in BN today.

From the Mongolian national's murder, the First Lady's diamond ring, the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) to Sabah CM's RM40 million ‘donation', it has all been one lie after another lie to try to cover up the truth.

When a government resorts to such despicable tactics to stay in power, the time has come for change. There is absolutely no trust left for the present regime.

One blunder after another, BN style
