DAP national chairperson Karpal Singh has come out in full support of his colleague Dr Boo Cheng Hau, who has alleged that there is an underground campaign carried out against his party by Johor PKR chief Chua Jui Meng.

Johor DAP chairperson Boo made the claim in a statement yesterday in which he alleged Chua has been releasing information against DAP which could damage the strong collaboration among Pakatan component parties.

NONE Karpal said DAP is taking a very serious view of Boo's assertion and wants an in-depth inquiry launched to determine who were behind the ‘vicious anonymous attacks' against the DAP and also probe the ‘black hand' behind these attacks.

"The assertion by Dr Boo cannot be dismissed out of hand in the interests of the Pakatan Rakyat," he said in a statement released yesterday evening.

"The credibility of Chua Jui Meng is suspect. His long sojourn in the MCA and by extension in BN and his unsuccessful attempt in 2004 at the MCA presidency and his obvious overzealous enthusiasm to regain a seat in Parliament certainly exposes a credibility problem which may appear to consume the better part of his intellect."

Chua must be stopped in his tracks

Karpal continued that unlike Chua Jui Meng, Boo is the "real McCoy" in Johor.

NONE He added the Johor PKR chief should realise a politician who deserted his own ‘political mother' could not be looked upon with approval or pride.

"If what Chua is doing is counter-productive to the Pakatan Rakyat, then he must be checked in his tracks, the sooner the better.

"Meanwhile, I call upon PKR de facto leader, Anwar Ibrahim, to intercede so that the Pakatan chances in its frontline state will not in any way be negatively affected by any act of sabotage," said the veteran DAP politician.
