Johor PKR today rubbished the demand of Johor DAP chief Dr Boo Cheng Hau to drop its state chief Chua Jui Meng, stressing that Boo has no right to raise such request.

"Boo should know that he has no right to demand it as he is not a PKR member. It is PKR's right to deal with its party affairs," said PKR deputy secretary-general Steven Choong, who is also  the Johor PKR election director.

In a statement issued today, Choong presented a point-by-point rebuttal to Boo's allegations :

Allegation 1: The relationship among Pakatan Rakyat coalition parties in Johor has been collapsing over the past two years.

Rebuttal: PKR and DAP have been cooperating in the past two years. Both parties have invited each other's leaders to their activities.

Allegation 2: Chua is an arrogant 'overlord'.

Rebuttal: Chua is a leader who holds on to his principles and always respect others. When the seat negotiations ended on July 31, 2011 with several seats not resolved, Chua suggested to leave them to Pakatan central leadership.

PKR has never taken any initiative to reveal details of seat negotiations to the media. Instead it always has been put in an embarrassing position when DAP or PAS leaders revealed information to outsiders.

PKR has no qualms to let the central leadership to decide on seat allocations, but why can't Boo also abide with the decision of the central leadership?

Boo and other DAP national leaders have been releasing information that certain seats should be contested by certain parties, and this has breached the confidentiality of Pakatan negotiations.

Allegation 3: Chua has repeatedly announced that he will represent PKR in Gelang Patah, although the Pakatan central leadership has not made any final decision.

Rebuttal: Chua has never made such an announcement. He is very clear that only central leadership can decide the candidates. Boo must prove his allegation.

Allegation 4: Former PKR state chief Dr Zaleha Mustafa went against the agreement between DAP and PKR and contested Gelang Patah parliamentary constituency in 2008.

Rebuttal: Zaleha did not breach the agreement. It was true that the late Johor PKR head Abdul Razak Ahmad had handed Gelang Patah to DAP before he died in 2007, however Anwar had unconditionally reclaimed the seat from DAP in 2008 upon request by Zaleha.

What happened before 2008 is not important anymore because DAP's highest leadership has handed Gelang Patah to PKR unconditionally.

In the last round of negotiations, PKR proposed to exchange Bakri with Gelang Patat but this rejected by DAP. PKR has never forced DAP to accept the proposal. It then handed over the negotiation to central leadership.

Allegation 5: Chua had arbitrarily rejected the consensus reached by grassroots leaders of the three parties on seats in Johor Bahru that the Johor Baru parliamentary seat and the two state seats within it - Stulang and Tanjung Puteri - will be contested by PKR, DAP and PAS respectively.

NONE Rebuttal: This consensus is invalid because the Johor Bahru PKR leadership has breached the party discipline by reaching agreement with other parties without the consent of central leadership. This stance had been conveyed to Johor Baru Pakatan leaders.

Choong ( right ) also denied that Chua is attempting to find himself a safe seat as the final decision on candidate selection is not in his hands but the central leadership.

"Unfortunately, (DAP chairperson) Karpal Singh supported Boo's action and tried to interfere with PKR party affairs by urging Anwar to investigate Chua," he added.
