Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng wants Tourism Minister Ng Yen Yen to stop blaming DAP for all its woes.

This includes the embarrassing episode where top Korean superstar Psy or Park Jae-sung had appeared as if he refused to join Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and other BN leaders to toss the yee sang during BN's Chinese New Year open house in Penang.

During that incident, BN leaders had clapped loudly and waited on stage for a whole five minutes, yet Psy did not appear.

NONE "We never made any speculations (that it was Yen Yen who instructed the emcee to invite Psy). This was based on state BN chief Teng Chang Yeow who told the media that a female minister had done so," Lim said at a press conference today.

"We hope Yen Yen ( left ) would stop attempting to lie again when it was BN leaders who pointed their fingers at her. Blame your own people," Lim told Yen Yen.

"We just want to focus our job on governing the state and to continue with our people-centric policies," added the DAP secretary general.

"We want to put an end to the attempt by Yen Yen to blame everything on DAP."

Lim was referring to Ng's attempt to evade questions surrounding the issue, where she told a Chinese language daily that it was merely "DAP's speculation".

Emcee acted out of cue

Ng, who is MCA liason chief for Penang, was asked the question, as two BN leaders - Teng and state Gerakan Youth chief Oh Tong Keong - had recently told the media that a female minister had instructed the emcee to invite the performer onstage to join the activity.

Teng said that the emcee acted out of cue and that there was a delay in Psy's non-appearance on stage, as the act was not in the programme.

Teng had also attributed to the delay, where Najib had left the stage right after tossing the yee sang, to an attempt on Psy's life.

NONE As there was no other female minister on stage at the Han Chiang College that day - where Psy later performed his famous ‘Oppa Gangnam Style' to a 30,000-strong audience - speculation was rife that the person was Ng.

"Was Teng referring to the Women Minister then - who is Najib himself?" asked Komtar assemblyperson Ng Wei Aik, at another press briefing today.

Psy or 'sai'?

Ng also pointed out a remark by state MCA wanita chief Teng Chang Liang that Lim had made a bad joke when referring to Psy's concert.

NONE "It just goes to show how ridiculous BN has become. Psy is his name. On that day, Najib had also asked if the crowd was ready for Psy," said Ng, who is also Lim's political secretary.

"Why do you think the CM meant otherwise? Maybe this is your own thoughts," Ng ( left ) shot back at Tan.

Lim had, on several occasions, joked in his speeches that BN often mobilised people (‘ tiau chooi ' in Hokkien) to attend their events.

"However, this time the BN has ‘tiau Psy'," he added in jest during his talks at several Chinese New Year open houses in Penang.

This has riled up the MCA coalition, with Tan saying that Lim's remarks were "disrespectful and unprofessional for a chief minister".

"A vernacular daily recently quoted Lim as joking at a Chinese New Year gathering that Barisan had brought ‘ sai ' (faeces in Hokkien) to Penang, in an apparent reference to South Korean megastar Psy," Tan was quoted as saying today in The Star .

"Lim did not mean it that way, it is Tan who had made it out to be," said Ng, who is the state DAP Socialist Youth chief.
