The Election Commission (EC) is ready to go to court if Pakatan Rakyat decides to sue its assistant registration officers for committing offence in relation to the registration of new voters.

The EC chief, Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof, told Malay daily Sinar Harian that the commission has nothing to fear as it has been following the law.

"Most likely, it is the assistant registration officers from political parties who would be the ones who registered (the wrong voters).

NONE "The EC has kept all evidence, including Borang A (the voter registration form). It will be furnished as evidence in the court later," Aziz was quoted as saying.

He was responding to the allegation by PKR vice-president Fuziah Salleh ( left ) that fraudulent operations to register new voters without their knowledge had been carried out.

Fuziah said PKR was collecting information and considering filling a class action suit against the EC.
