vox populi small thumbnail Disgusted: The rakyat are not buying the signing of pledge by Prime Minister Najib Razak. He has lied so many times before that no one really trusts him or BN. He has no conscience at all. A desperate man can resort to desperate measures.

Passing Cloud: If even the ministers in PM Najib's handpicked cabinet present at the signing ceremony did not sign the pledge, it only means, like those absent, they won't be honouring the four-point pledge.

Everyone knows they have been breaking them to the hilt. Najib, the naked emperor, is doing this alone again. The signing of the pledge is just an exercise in futility.

Heavywater: Any of you believe in Najib and this ‘wayang kulit' act? It is just play acting. Even a 10-year-old can sign a piece of paper, but what does it really mean? Is Najib sincere? No way in hell.

Please remember Najib swore on the Holy Book for something he claimed he did not do. He is trying to fool us again.

Yesterday you met the Pope but when you are back, you 'hantam' (disparage) the Christians. This is called integrity and honesty?

Changes in BN cannot happen overnight. To help BN change for better, BN need to become the opposition for a few terms.

Let it experience how is it like to be without the authority, and learn to serve the public interest from the heart, not for money and power. I think that's the best way.

Ah Boss : What is wrong with a PAS member being present at the forum? In Pakistan, a lot of Muslims go to Sikh gurdwaras to listen to the hymns. The Special Branch has no business to interfere in such matters.

What are they doing about the blatant corruption by people like Selangor Wanita Umno chief Raja Ropiaah Abdullah and Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil's family?

After all, Friday talks in mosques also advise Muslims on voting preferences. So why and who the heck is the SB to interfere in our matters?

AF McLaren: I subscribe to the bishop's view that Christians should not be apolitical. But we should be non-partisan.

Vote for a righteous leader and party. So, if the candidate has appeared in some porn DVD or even if a candidate is righteous, but belongs to a corrupt party, Christians must vote this candidate out.

Onyourtoes: When we provide a view or an opinion, it is inevitable and unavoidable that we are supportive of one political party and go against another one. Refraining from partisan participation in the political process exists only in a vacuum.

Maybe that is why the Christians have taken so long to wake up from their slumber, and it looks like they are now going back to sleep again.

I don't see the need to adhere so strictly to certain principles that forbid one to participate in a forum when there are those among the panel members who are from political parties.

Come on, are NGOs and lay activists strictly non-political? Please tell me which one?

MA: The Church fights for issues relating to religious freedom, human rights and morality.

If any political party member sits on the panel at a Church-organised event, the Church will be lambasted for being in favour of a particular party. I think Rev Bishop Paul Tan is right.

Black Mamba: Why is the SB so nosy about who attends the forum? Should Pakatan Rakyat come to power would they be doing the same thing, finding out who in Umno attends such discussion?
