Some 112,000 police personnel will be mobilised during 13th general election, Bukit Aman deputy director of Internal Security and Public Order Department (PGA/Border Management/International Airport Security) Muhammad Fuad Abu Zarim said today.
The police personnel, comprising various ranks from all branches of police force, are currently undergoing training, including practical training (Ex Ballot III) being held today and tomorrow.
Muhammad Fuad said they had gone through a series of training programmes since early this year to prepare mentally and physically for the general election.
"They have been through two training series, the first series is in the form of table talk or discussions about their assignments.
"The second series is in the form of discussions and action, and the third series (Ex Ballot III) is performed via live exercise in the field," he told Bernama when contacted today.
Muhammad Fuad said the third training series would only be held in Perak as it is one of the bigger states in the country.
"A total of 280 Bukit Aman personnel will conduct and monitor the training in Perak. The other states will only undergo second series training."
