The People's Progressive Party (PPP) has submitted the party's list of candidates to be fielded in the upcoming 13th general election to Barisan Nasional (BN), with the majority being new faces.

PPP senior vice-president Maglin Dennis D'Cruz, however, refused to comment further about the names and the number of the candidates.

Maglin, who is also deputy information communications and culture minister, said the party was also confident that 16 of its candidates were winnable candidates.

Nevertheless, he said the final decision to select the candidates to be fielded in the 13th general election was still up to BN chairman, who is also Prime Minister, Najib Razak, he told reporters after attending Jalinan Mesra 1Malaysia programme organised by Jinjang Utara Residents Association in KL today.

In the 2008 general election, PPP contested but lost in Taiping parliamentary seat and Pasir Bedamar state seat, both in Perak.
