Pertubuhan Ikatan Usahawan Kecil dan Sederhana Malaysia (Ikhlas) Kedah, a group comprising small and medium entrepreneurs, will be organising a boycott campaign against the PAS-led state government and Pakatan Rakyat leaders in the upcoming 13th general election.     

Its chairperson Sarjakhan Abu Bakar said this was due to the Kedah government's failure to solve their problems despite several memorandums and complaints forwarded to it as there was not even feedback.     

He also complained that the local authorities often disturbed small traders by confiscating their items and demolishing their stalls, their source of income, but left the foreign traders alone.     

"We will go round the 36 state seats in 15 parliamentary constituencies in Kedah to meet over 12,000 small traders to ask them to boycott Pakatan Rakyat," he told reporters at the Kedah Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office, Alor Setar, today.     

"I hope Prime Minister Najib Razak will appoint eligible candidates capable of looking after the interests of small traders," he said.     

Sarjakhan and 30 Ikhlas members had earlier staged a peaceful demonstration in front of the MACC office and handed over a memorandum to the agency, asking it to investigate alleged malpractices in the local authorities.
