Cabinet trio not 'crazy' over MB's post

Perakians will vote for Pakatan Rakyat to power again, which is rightly theirs in 2008 but was stolen by BN from the people.

This time Perakians will make sure this will not happen again by voting overwhelmingly for Pakatan in both state and parliament seats.

Mushiro: The problem is any of these three proposed as menteri besar of Perak - Minister in the PM's Department Nazri Abdul Aziz, Defence Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah - runs a high risk of being rejected by the people of Perak.

BN just does not have a candidate which can be accepted.

Just look at past federal ministers promoted to MBs or CMs, including those who have retired from active Umno party politics. Their power and wealth are more than any Malaysian billionaires.

Apa Nama: Nazri, when addressing government functions, the protocol after the deputy prime minister is menteri besar followed by federal minister.

A menteri besar or CM is in charge of the whole state while a federal minister like you and your other two colleagues are just in charge of a department.

Stories: A MB is the head of a state government. In my opinion, more leadership chances are given here compared to being a federal minister.

That is why, so many federal ministers are useless, like the home, foreign and defence ministers. Until now, they still can't chase intruders away.

Apapunboleh: A ‘demoted' federal minister became the richest chief minister of Sarawak and Premier Najib Abdul Razak has to beg him for support to stay in power. Tell us who is more powerful now.

Lim Chong Leong: As cabinet minister, you have to share the loot with the chief of cabinet. As menteri besar, your state exco has to share their loot with you. One is head of state cabinet, the other is an ordinary member of federal cabinet. Who is higher?

CiViC: De facto law minister Nazri, thanks for your honesty. You just said it out loud from your hearts that all you (and the other two ministers) care for is only the position, power and money.

A true public servant would have asked for a position where he/she can serve the people best, especially those of his/her constituency and state.

CM: Penang badly neglected for more than 50 years

Lin: Penang CM Lim Guan Eng is right. I used to work at Klang's Northport and Johor Port and in comparison, Penang Port's infrastructure is pretty behind compared to Northport.

From what I could recall when I was in the industry 11 years ago, Penang only had two quay cranes to service a vessel. Performance wise, Penang could only unstuff/stuff 13 to 18 containers an hour.

Imagine a vessel coming with 100 containers destined for Penang; the vessel operations hour would run to 8-9 hours if one crane is working. Northport during that time had 24 quay cranes in comparison, if I remember correctly.

Anonymous_3e12: The Butterworth Ferry Terminal that collapsed nearly 20 years ago and the Bus Terminal that burned down more than 10 years ago had both been left to rot and are in a pathetic stage. Even the international train station looks worse now than it did 50 years ago.

From these examples, it is so clearly evident that the BN central government has always neglected Penang.

The Gerakan state government never raised their hands at all to get more allocations for the Penang people in the entire time they were in power.

Chemical Ali: It is all former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad's work - he developed Langkawi to finish off Penang. That was his racist policy.

This man is the number one enemy of Penang and all the previous chief ministers have been pandering to him for their personal gain.

Ngecui: Umno has always been jealous of Penang from a racial point of view. And Mahathir led the way.

Tim'sTime: I believe Penang will thrive against all odds and BN will see to it Penang fails, so that they can use the excuse to make good on the situation.

Likewise, Pakatan has the opportunity to make good on the failure of BN. Make hay while the sun shines. Pakatan has to work a lot harder as it is just weeks before GE13.

Hplooi: So what is new? The Umno administration has been exacting revenge on the Penang electorate since the 1969 election and still is.
