Pardon me, are they not militants and terrorists?

YOURSAY 'At least the inspector-general of police is being honest - these are our enemies. Indeed, they have killed our people.'

12 dead, including six cops, in Semporna firefight

your say Geronimo: "The Semporna incident is over and the situation has returned to normal," said inspector-general of police (IGP) Ismail Omar.

The Semporna incident is over? How is it possible? There were about 200 Filipino militants who landed on our shore and so far according to my calculation, the number killed is in the region of 20.

What happened to the rest? Have they gone into Lahad Datu town to have tea or do a bit of night clubbing? According to a Malaysiakini report yesterday, it seems that even more have landed .

Until we see 200 bodies lying side by side, the incident is not over. Far from it.

Anonymous #19098644: After six more police officers dead, bringing the total to eight, the police chief finally calls the terrorists "enemies".

Headhunter: The big question everyone should ask is how did the armed intruders managed to enter Sabah without detection?

More sinister still, have these group of people been living in Sabah for sometime and planned to attack from within? If this is the scenario, how many potential terrorists are out there to mount further attacks?

Is that why the Sulu sultan said that there might be a civil war - because these people are Malaysian IC holders (compliments of former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad) whose loyalty lies with the Philippines and not Malaysia?

If there's anyone to blame, it should be Mahathir and Umno. They are the ones who betrayed and sold the country to foreigners in their craze for power.

Jk7462000: Whoever in Putrajaya after GE13 should stop paying the defunct Sulu sultanate "rent".

If you come with guns, then you should be dealt with extreme prejudice. And PM Najib Razak should know better than to train his sights on Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim over this whole issue.

The abolishment of the Marine police is the real reason why our borders in Sabah have become so porous.

Ah Boss: At least the IGP is being honest - these are our enemies. Indeed, they have killed our people.

Sama Sama: The army is not sent in to do their job because:

1) The morons think that the intruders are Muslim and they should handle the situation the Muslim way, that is by negotiations.

2) The morons believed that the intruders are friendly and as such, they are neither militants nor terrorists .

3) The morons think that by flushing out the armed intruders with the army, means not giving face to their many brethren in Sabah who will vote against BN in retaliation.

4) The morons underestimated the situation by observing protocol thinking that the armed intruders are ordinary criminals, hence sent the police.

5) The morons are taking orders from Mahathir and he knows how potentially dangerous the situation can be. After all, the many Bangsamoro he gave IC to can start an insurgency in Sabah which can last for years.

6) The morons think that all Muslim are like them - gentle and peace-loving - and the intruders being Muslim carry guns only for self-protection, and will not shoot at us, if we don't shoot at them.

Anonymous #43051382: Apparently, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has taken control most of Sulu after the peace deal with the Phillippines, with the help of Naijb. And having lost most of Sulu, the sultan wants to claim half of Sabah.

Anonymous #08167141: I really fear for the safety of our police. The families of those posted there must be living in great fear of losing their loved ones.

The police are not trained to take on heavily-armed invaders. It is the job of the army. The home minister must be held accountable.

OMG!!: This must be the biggest number of security forces slain since the communist insurgency and a RCI (royal commission of inquiry) must be set up to inquire what has happened and whose hands are full of their blood.

Patriot_Malaysia: To the IGP, I say, "We're with you". Get these terrorists out of the country or hang them for waging war against king and country.

The government must declare all flags in the country be flown at half-mast tomorrow and stay there until we get these terrorists out of our country.

There is no religion in war and we must stand united behind the government of the day. It does not matter if the opposition wins the next election, but BN is still the government of the day.

The opposition (whom I voted for in the last three elections), must stand shoulder to shoulder with the government and get this resolved, immediately.

Politics can wait. There is no point running for elections if we don't have a nation.
